1. Physostigma
Effective evidence of eyes ailments cures- Christison a prover become very much giddiness and dimness of vision.Its action on the eye, especially for power of contracting the pupil, and  antagonising Atropine, that Physo. and its alkloid. The effects are more definite when the drug (tincture, extract, or solution of alkaloid) is applied to the eye direct; but one myopic prover had his myopia much diminished. In glaucoma it has been used with signal success to diminish intra-ocular tension; and especially when glaucoma has been the result of injury. Dudgeon (B. J. H., xxxviii. 60) relates the case of A. E., 26, struck by the cork of a soda-water bottle on inferior and outer part of left eyeball. Intense burning pain and effusion into the eyeball followed. Under Arn., prescribed by Mr. Engall, the effusion disappeared, and later the pain and inflammation subsided under Aco. and Merc. c. The pupil was now egg-shaped, the long diameter perpendicular, smaller end downwards; vision extremely myopic. Bell. dilated the pupil, but had no effect on the vision. Engall sent the patient to Dudgeon, who found the pupil was sluggish, and a book had to be held within four inches of the eye to be read. Physo. 3x, every three hours, was given. After the first dose objects could be seen at a considerable distance, and next day sight was nearly as good as ever. Dudgeon considers that the lens was tilted by the blow, and that Physo. restored the over-stretched or paralysed portion of the ciliary muscle. Woodyatt (Org. iii. 99) states that Physo. has produced corneal astigmatism in a young lady, who found any attempt at close work caused redness of tarsal edges and a hot, sandy feeling in conjunctiva. Lil. t. 30 cured.

2. Cochleria
Frontal bone and sinus, antrum and salivary glands are specifically affected by this drug. Bloated sensation. Raises vital forces. Used as a gargle in scorbutic gums and sore throat. Hoarseness and in relaxed conditions of the fauces. Internally in gonorrhœa. Useful as a condiment in enfeebled states of the stomach. An infusion of the root in cider, for dropsy, causes copious diuresis. Locally cures dandruff.
Eyes-Sore and scrofulous; traumatic inflammation of eyes, blearedness and cataract. Copious running from eyes.

3. Quassia
Acts on gastric organs as a tonic (Gentian; Hydr). Seems to possess marked action on eyes, producing amblyopia and cataract. Pain in right intercostal muscles above the liver. Pressure and stitches in liver, and sympathetically in spleen.

4. Carbonium Sulph
Myopia, asthenopia, and dis-chromotopia, cloudiness and atrophy of optic disc and central scotoma for light and for red and green not for white. Optic neuritis advancing toward atrophy. Arteries and veins congested. Retinal congestion; optic disc pale. Everything seems in a fog. Vision greatly impaired. Color-blindness.Suffer from recurrent style.

5. Colocynth
Eyes-Pains sharp, boring, better pressure. Sensation on stooping, as if eye would fall out. Gouty affections of eyes. Violent pain in eyeballs which precede the development of glaucoma.soft cataract.

6. Gelsemium
Eyes feel bruised.-Yellow colour of the eyes.Drooping of the eyelids; they are heavy; can hardly open them or keep them open.Fulness and congestion of the eyelids; paralysis of the eyelids.-Double vision controllable by the strength of the will, or when looking sideways, not when looking straight forward.Eyeballs oscillate laterally when using them.-Double vision, cannot tell which side of the street he is on.-Diplopia and dim vision during pregnancy.-Amaurosis from masturbation.Smoky appearance before the eyes, with pain above them.-Detached retina.Dimness of sight, and vertigo.-Cannot see anything (complete blindness).Sudden blindness.Pupils dilated.Aversion to light; more to candle-light.Thirst for light.Confusion of sight; blindness; astigmatism.

7. Silicea
Cataract as lather stage. Angles of eyes affected. Swelling of lachrymal duct. Aversion to light, especially daylight; it produces dazzling, sharp pain through eyes; eyes tender to touch; worse when closed. Vision confused; letters run together on reading. Styes. Iritis and irido-choroiditis, with pus in anterior chamber. Perforating or sloughing ulcer of cornea. Abscess in cornea after traumatic injury. Cataract in office workers.c After-effects of keratitis and ulcus cornæ, clearing the opacity. Use 30th potency for months.

8. Jaborandi
Eye strain from whatever cause. Irritability of the ciliary muscle. Eyes easily tire from slightest use. Heat and burning in eyes on use. Headache; smarting and pain in globe on use. Everything at a distance appears hazy; vision becomes indistinct every few moments. Retinal images retained long after using eyes. Irritation from electric or other artificial light. Pupils contracted; do not react to light. Staring eyes. Near-sighted. Vertigo and nausea after using eyes. White spots before eyes. Smarting pain in eyes. Lids twitch. Atrophic choroiditis. Spasm of the accommodation while reading.Extreme dryness feel sand in eyes. In Germany it is used for eye disorders, glaucoma, and to promote perspiration and salivation and in Brazil it is used for variety of conditions like asthma, bronchitis, colds, diphtheria, dry mouth, oedema, hair loss, laryngitis, rheumatism, urinary insufficiency, and as and expectorant.
